Investigation mechanic

Grave Seasons Journal and Clue Tracking

Grave Seasons has a journal system that records clues found during investigations. Those clues can become trackable investigation quests, so players do not need to memorize every discovery.

How the mechanic works

The journal reduces memory burden without solving the case automatically. A clue can point toward a person or place—such as a business connection—while the player still needs to know where that resident normally spends time and whether the destination is open.

What this changes for guide design

Walkthroughs must separate universal systems from campaign-specific answers, record the relevant season and resident state, and keep culprit or victim information behind explicit spoiler controls.

Verification rule

The page answers the confirmed mechanic now. Exact quest steps, item requirements, dates, failure windows, and outcomes will only be added from official material or repeatable retail-build evidence.
